Cognitive Restructuring
Our goal is to help clients work on identifying and positively altering assumptions and beliefs about their physical limitations by stating self-affirming statements before and after workouts. EMH aims to develop new positive muscle and cognitive memory while coaching clients to acknowledge, accept, and express gratitude regarding what their body has accomplished.

Motivational Interviewing
EMH goals are to help our clients find the internal motivation needed to acknowledge and resolve fitness behaviors & beliefs that contribute to ambivalent feelings and insecurities about their bodies, and fitness levels.

Meet Melissa:
A licensed clinical therapist (LCSW), certified personal trainer (CPT-ISSA), and registered USA Boxer. She has combined her love of talk therapy and fitness to provide care and program development that will enhance people’s positive experiences related to physical activity and improving mental health. She is devoted to providing counseling and mentorship to both adolescents and adults.
Melissa has a master’s degree in clinical social work (MSW), from Simmons College, Boston, MA, and completed a post-masters fellowship providing counseling to veterans implementing cognitive behavioral therapies, and motivational interviewing techniques focusing on Psychosocial Rehabilitation.

Currently, EBF does not accept health insurance. However, clients may be able to seek reimbursement directly from their insurance provider. A National Provider Identifier (NPI) can be provided upon request.

The initial visit may be conducted either in person at our Providence office or virtually. During this session, a comprehensive assessment is completed, including a review of medical history, current concerns, and any limitations. We will also discuss your goals and complete any necessary paperwork.

EMH accepts cash, Venmo, and major credit cards as forms of payment.

To help EBF accommodate scheduling for all clients, a 24-hour cancellation policy is in place. This policy will be reviewed during the first visit, and clients will be asked to sign an acknowledgment form. EMH reserves the right to charge the full session fee to the credit card on file if the policy is not followed.
